Towards a Strong Philippine Policy to
Address Climate Change and a Coherent Agenda to the COP 14/CMP 4 in Poznań and
Beyond The conference-workshop aims to:
- Provide participants with a working understanding of the science of climate change and its consequent impacts on various sectors in the Philippines, as well as a working knowledge of how scientific research is transformed into policy
- Increase awareness and understanding of the international and local policy framework in response to climate change in the context of COP 14 at Poznan
- Build and improve the capacity of stakeholders in the Philippines to participate in and contribute to Philippine positions on climate change issues tackled in the UNFCCC.
- Glimpse evolving local government responses to climate change
- Understand evolving CSO policy positions to the climate change policy developments in the Philippines, the UNFCCC, Kyoto Protocol, the Bali Plan of Action and the submissions for the upcoming COP14/CMP4
