ICS-CDM for the Republic of the Philippines
(2004 – present)
The Integrated Capacity Strengthening for CDM Programme of the Institute for Environmental Strategies (IGES) aims to build capacities of developing countries in Asia to initiate, develop and implement CDM projects. Its activities include information dissemination and training workshops to local stakeholders such as project developers, consultants and members of the Designated National Authority (DNA).
klima, in coordination with the Environmental Management Bureau, has conducted several activities under this programme since 2004. These include training workshops for project developers and some government agencies specifically the Philippine DNA and its different support institutions.
klima is also developing a baseline guidebook which demonstrates the process by which CDM baseline emission factors for grid-connected generation projects are derived for the Luzon, Visayas, Luzon-Visayas and Mindanao grids. These emission factors can be used by project proponents in assessing the potential emission reductions of their CDM projects.
